SteriFx, Inc. Receives EPA Registration for Its Non-Toxic Hard Surface Disinfectant
SteriFx, Inc. receives US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) registration for use as a hard surface disinfectant. SteriFx is the developer and marketer of a patented GRAS (Generally Regarded As Safe) formulation designed to significantly reduce harmful pathogens. This specially formulated disinfectant is a welcome alternative to the noxious chemicals currently being used.
Many poultry processors have taken advantage of the powerful, USDA-approved antimicrobial treatment FreshFx provides to reduce contamination and improve product quality. Now, with EPA registration, SteriFx can offer similar benefits through its hard surface disinfectant to sanitizing crews and those in other facility cleaning markets.
John Dankert Ph.D., CSO of SteriFx pointed out the significance of this registration for the Company’s expansion into the new markets. “This will allow us to provide an environmentally responsible disinfectant product with great benefit for a number of applications, including food processing and preparation in both institutional and consumer markets.”
The SteriFx hard surface disinfectant allows for quicker cleaning due to its rapid and potent antimicrobial action. Most applications do not require subsequent rinsing and handlers need not wear special protective clothing for application. Because of its unique killing mechanism microbial resistance is unlikely, eliminating the complexity and cost associated with using multiple disinfectant products.
This innovative formulation disinfects microorganisms without the hazards associated with other disinfectant products. The non-toxic product is not irritating to skin or eyes, non-carcinogenic, non-flammable, and functions over a wide temperature range due to its low volatility.
SteriFx products can be supplied as a stable solution concentrate that can be diluted on-site for application or in ready-to-use formulations for immediate use.
